For decades serious real estate investors have used the cyclical nature of real estate to their advantage.  Sadly, the everyday home buyer seldom if ever plans to use the real estate sales cycle to their advantage.  Once in a while buyers luck into a Buyer's Market but generally the Buyers buy all at the same time.
